This has to be the most strangest and quite disturbing design tools I have ever seen. Anne-Catherine Becker-Echivard is a artist from Berlin who uses fish heads in her productions. The bodies, costumes and environments are hand crafted, usually taking up to 3 months to produce all the elements for a photograph.

I have stated before in this blog that usual combinations can work well to create characters, and this one certainly has gone for that effect by mixing human and fish, putting them in human like situations.
Her work here is very unnerving and unsettling to look at, and I can imagine if in an animated format, being in the style like Jan Svankmajers films.
Here's an example of one of his films -
Svankmajers reputation is from his use of stop-motion technique to create surreal, nightmarish, and disturbing images in his films, yet at the same time keeps in an element of comedy. The stop motion really adds to this effect as the smooth animation of normal film is replaced with a much more shaky feel. The loud, exaggerated noise can go through me slightly, like scratching on a blackboard. The fish like characters operating in the same way as humans could easily be used to unnerve viewers in a film because even in still image, they are freaky to look at.
