On Monday 13th April, I found these examples of art from the Sun website, discussing art created by food.
This piece is by JuDuoqi, a Chinese artist, recreating Da Vinci's Mona Lisa using tofu stir fry tofu. This was made in November 2008.

Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe was made up of smarties by food artist Prudence Emma Staite in April 2008.

Artist Emma Staite's recreates a shot from the Eastenders title scene using bangers, mash and mushy peas.

Whats fun about these pieces of work is that they are parodies of previous work, showing famous pieces in a new, fun, comical expression.
It also goes to show the basic principle of design, which is there is no one tool in art. Everything in life has the possibility of being a paint brush.
The idea of food and art reminded me of the film Napoleon Dynamite, which used food as a way of creating the title sequence.
