Ever since we did Concept Studies in the second year, I enjoy to finding artist that use new ideas, techniques and mediums in there artistic approaches. It keeps ideas fresh and original and most the time, makes you think what original concepts you can come up with that is just as clever.
Levi van Veluw is a 23 year old Dutch artist whose only canvas is his head. He develops his idea over a period of months, then works a solid 11 hours on creating his new piece on his head. He will never use computers to create this manipulations, its all about using real life materials.
His aim is to unsettle his viewer, which I find is a successful aim. These pictures have a real unnatural, monster-like creepiness to them. The one with stones does this especially well as there are no eyes, which makes it lack all real emotion.
